OUR FOOD FESTIVALS
WELCOME TO DURHAM
FESTIVAL OF FOOD & DRINK
A VIRTUAL FOOD AND DRINK FESTIVAL WHICH SUPPORTED OUR TRADERS AND PRODUCERS THROUGH LOCKDOWN
Durham Festival of Food & Drink was an online event hosted by Durham County Council, to support local traders and food producers through Covid.
This website celebrated all the excellent food producers and drinks companies that regularly exhibit at the Bishop Auckland and Seaham Food Festivals.
We are delighted that both food festivals are now taking place live once again, and after showing tremendous resilience, our traders and producers are up and running, and contributing to the local economy again.

CELEBRATING PRODUCERS, SUPPLIERS AND RETAILERS IN DURHAM
Food and drink accounts for 37% of total annual spend in the visitor economy (totalling £350mn). Taste Durham showcases and celebrates the county’s food and drink and encourages people who live here, and those who are visiting, to sample the best we have on offer. Local food and produce is sought out by more and more people who are looking for an authentic experience and who care where their food comes from. The vibrancy of farmers markets, the emergence of more and more food festivals across the country and the growing number of food tourists are evidence of this trend. Taste Durham is about all businesses in Durham’s food and drink sector – producers, suppliers and retailers.
